Distinguished Alumni Achievement Awards

The Williams College of Business announces its Distinguished Alumni Achievement Awards. These awards will be given to one Xavier University business undergraduate or MBA graduate in each of three categories:

  • Young Alum Achievement Award (35 years and younger)
  • Distinguished Alum Achievement Award
  • LifetimeAchievement Award

We invite you to submit a nomination for a Xavier graduate who embodies Jesuit ideals and has been committed to the growth or betterment of the community, achieved outstanding accomplishments or demonstrated industry or community leadership. Self-nominations are accepted.

Winners will be formally recognized at a Cocktail Reception on campus this spring.

The XMBA Alumni Association Invites You to Breakfast with Mr. Kevin Kline

Attention XMBA Students and Alumni!

You are invited to join us Friday, March 15 at the NEW Horseshoe Casino downtown from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to meet Kevin Kline, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Horseshoe Casino, Cincinnati. This event is sponsored by the Xavier University XMBA Alumni Association & XMBA Office as part of the “Community Connections” initiative.

Mr. Kline led the design, construction and operations at Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago), the $500 million casino development which opened in August 2008 and employs 2,300 people. In 2012, Mr. Kline was named as one of the tri-state’s most influential leaders in Cincy magazine’s “The Power 100.” You will have the chance to meet and listen to Kevin Kline’s presentation on the “Development and Operating Connectivity of Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati and Our Community.” Additionally, Dr. Brian Till, Dean of the Williams College of Business will be providing opening remarks. Breakfast will be provided. Admission is $15 which includes a buffet breakfast. (Onsite and nearby parking is available for a fee.) All guests are welcome!

Location: Smith Hall - Room 308 The job search can be an overwhelming process for many! And getting overwhelmed can often create paralysis in the job hunt and prevent you from taking action.

While preparing an effective resume, powerful cover letter and building an online presence is vital - it isn't always about who has the best resume - it can often be who has the best network of career advocates.

This interactive session will get you focused on the tips to prioritize your career search outreach, make contact with those that can serve as career advocates and create correspondence to persuade them to connect with you.


Social Media Intership Opportunity

The Ault Park Advisory Council (APAC) is pleased to offer a social media marketing internship for the calendar year 2013. This internship is being created to assist the APAC Marketing Committee with implementation of plans for the year. There will be a one-time stipend of $500.00.

This internship would be a good place for anyone who is looking to get some great professional perspective. The APAC Marketing Committee has some sharp, passionate members. The intern will see perspective from Advertising Executive, International PR, Entrepreneur, Lawyer, large international company to a one person company.

WCB Distinguished Scholar: March 8 Event CANCELLED

The March 8 event for the WCB Distinguished Scholar series featuring the Coca Cola Company Chair from University of Georgia has been cancelled.

Madrid Study Trip (May 20-25) Information

Please click here for information about a new study trip to Madrid in May through a fellow Jesuit university, Saint Louis University (SLU). Course dates are May 20-25 (Monday-Sat).

There is some pre and post travel work involved. For non-SLU students, this can be done electronically. Students need to be in Madrid no later than Sunday, May 19th. Rooms can be reserved if they want to arrive early. Course goes through Saturday, May 25th. Departure can be anytime Sunday, May 26th or later. Memorial Day is May 27th, so an additional day is easy.
