| Out to Lunch Program at Xavier University |
The Out to Lunch program allows a student to take a professor to lunch for free in the Hoff Dining Commons. The Office of Residence Life and Auxiliary Services will cover the cost of the faculty member’s meal and the students pay for their own meal with their Xavier University Meal Plan. If a student does not have a meal plan, the Office of Residence Life and Auxiliary Services will also cover the cost of their meal so that all Xavier University students can participate in this program.
We are hoping that students will take the initiative and ask a professor to lunch, but also want to allow for professors to take a student out to lunch if they want to touch base with a student or feel as though going to lunch with the student will better help with their adjustment or connection to Xavier University.
A student can pick up a meal voucher for his/her professor by stopping by the Office of Residence Life or the Office of Auxiliary Services located in the Musketeer Mezzanine. At that time, if the student does not have a meal plan, a student meal voucher will also be given to the student. A list of “Questions to Ask your Professor” will also be given to the student so they will hopefully feel more prepared and comfortable for the one-on-one interaction. Faculty members can also stop by the Office of Residence Life or the Office of Auxiliary Services to pick up a ticket if they plan to take a student to lunch.
At the end of the academic year, a survey will be sent to all students who participated in the program to find out more about their experience, gather information about the number and quality of future faculty interactions they had, and whether they plan to return to Xavier University for the following academic year.
We will be distributing an informational flyer around the Residence Halls, Gallagher Student Center, and the Academic buildings. Please feel free to share this information with your colleagues and encourage your students to participate in this program!
If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to let us know.
Sincerely,
Fay Coleman,
Office of Residence Life
Tom Barlow, Office of Auxiliary Services |

| Fall Parking Permits |
The Office of Auxiliary Services is pleased to announce the launch of our new Web-based self-service parking system that will allow all Xavier students to conveniently manage their own parking account online. This new service includes acquisition and mailing of your new parking permit directly to you. Parking permits are only available through this online ordering process. If you have a current student window sticker, it is due to expire on August 15.
To help support the new parking transition, you should go online to acquire your permit before the new academic year begins on Monday, August 20th. You are expected to have your new official Xavier Parking Permit affixed in your vehicle at this time.
Steps to acquire your permit: (NOTE: Your license plate number is required to complete the process below.)
- Log on the MyXU portal; go to the Student Services Tab.
- On the Student Services Tab, click on the link inside the new “My Parking Information” channel. This will direct you into your personal account page on the new parking services management site.
- Click on the “Buy A Xavier Permit” link to get started. Follow the checkout prompts for your permit, vehicle and mailing information.
- At checkout, a temporary permit will be provided to you to print out and display until the official Xavier Parking Permit is received in the mail within 30 days.
- Visibly place your temporary permit on your dash until your official permit arrives.
- Upon receiving your official permit in the mail, please affix it inside your car, to the lower right hand, passenger side corner of your windshield. The envelope will have a return address label of The Permit Store.com. This is NOT junk mail.
The new permit is a transferrable window permit which for your convenience can be easily moved between your vehicles registered to your permit. If you do have other cars that you may on occasion bring to campus, please be sure to register those alternate vehicles in the “Account/ Manage Vehicles” section of the web site.
