Capital IQ Now Available in Trading Room

Capital IQ, the easy-to-use financial data retrieval system from Standard and Poor’s, is now available for student use on the workstations in the Fifth Third Trading Room (SMH 106) and in SMH101. Standard & Poor's Capital IQ provides web-based information services that combine information on companies worldwide along with a variety of software applications that allow financial professionals to analyze company fundamentals, build financial models, screen for investment ideas, and execute other financial research tasks. Components of Capital IQ’s offering include data on public companies, private companies, company financials, M&A/financing transactions, public offerings, corporate executives’ and board directors’ compensation, news, filings, screening tools, chart builder, real-time market data and news, relationship tree, macroeconomic data, industry analyses, and investment research.

To log in to CapIQ, click on the CapIQ icon on the desktop of the workstation, enter the number of the machine (e.g. SMITH106-05, but it is not case-sensitive), and enter the password “4xavier” without the quotes. If you check “Remember me” on the login screen, login will be automatic the next time you log on to that particular workstation.

Survey for XWMBA

MBA Students and Alumni,

There is a survey that is being conducted by a graduate student organization here at Xavier University. The goal of the survey is to gain a better understanding of MBA students and alumni, their overall needs, and what they hope to get out of the program. The intent is to shape on-campus organizations in a way that allow them to fully meet the needs of students and add value to the overall MBA experience. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

If you choose to participate, at the end of the survey you will have a chance to enter a raffle to win a $25 Visa gift card.

Please click here to participate in the survey.

Thank you!
Maggie McClanahan

SODEC Resume Book – Submission Deadline, January 27th

SODEC (Southern Ohio District Export Council) is a chapter of the National District Export Council (DEC). This is an organization of international business leaders from the community, nominated and later appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce, who mentor companies that are interested in exporting. SODEC is hosting their 6th annual conference at Xavier University on March 22, 2012 at the Cintas Center and anticipates nearly 200 companies in attendance, represented by over 300 attendees!

Through the sponsorship of the Williams College of Business, we have a unique opportunity to provide attendees of this conference with a Resume Book of Xavier students interested in pursuing career opportunities. Current MBAs interested in participating in this Resume Book should submit their resume by no later than January 27th. If you are interested in an internship or full-time opportunity, this is a great way to get your name out to the business community! Click here for more information on the resume submission process.
