Nathan Bailey

Nathan is currently serving as the Fund’s CEO, and Investment Manager for the Consumer Staples Consumer Discretionary Sectors.  He was an Analyst for both sectors last semester.  Nathan is Majoring in Finance. He is a senior set to graduate in May, and is a second semester member of the D'Artagnan Capital Fund.  Nathan is currently working at Merrill Lynch for the Foster Kavanaugh group. He has also held an internship with Haberer Registered Investment Advisors where he worked with the Senior Portfolio Manager.

Kyle Varrone

Kyle is a Finance major from the Cleveland area. He is currently the Information Technology fund manager in his second semester with the fund. Kyle interned this summer with Northcoast Research on the specialty retail team. In his free time, Kyle enjoys hanging out with friends, working out, playing golf and basketball, reading, and watching sports.

Wes Hampson

Wes Hampson is a Finance Major and Economics minor from Portsmouth, NH. Wes is a manager for the Information Technology and Telecommunications sectors. He is currently an intern of Ohio National Financial Services in Cincinnati. This past summer, he interned with AIG in Boston, MA. Wes is also the Vice President of the Xavier University Running Club and the treasurer of the Financial Management Association.

Matthew Pastorcic

Matthew Pastorcic is currently a senior Finance and Accounting double major from Cleveland, Ohio. Matt previously served as a Consumer Discretionary Sector Analyst in the fall semester of 2011, and is serving as the Energy/Utilities Sector manager this fall. He completed a busy season internship with Deloitte & Touché, LLP last spring and plans on joining Deloitte full-time after graduation. Along with being involved with the D’Artagnan Capital Fund, he is also involved with his professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and the Financial Management Association. An interesting fact about him is that he is fluent in Croatian.

Austin Behan

Austin is a Finance and Economics double major, from Tiverton, Rhode Island. Austin is in his second semester with the fund, working as the manager for the Healthcare sector. Healso serves as Chief Economic Strategist, responsible for economic updates throughout the semester. In addition to being a manager for the D’Artagnan Capital Fund, he is a member of the Xavier Men’s Rugby Club. Austin is currently the Vice President-for the Economics Association. In his free time he enjoys keeping up with current events and reading “The Economist.”

Julie Wedel

Julie is a Finance Major, Statistics Minor from Richmond, KY. She is a fund manager for the Consumer Discretionary & Staples sector in the fund. Currently, Julie is the Vice President of the Club Gymnastics Team, Secretary of the Actuarial Club, and Secretary of the Club Soccer team. Also, Julie is a student tutor for all statistic courses at Xavier University and works in the Math Lab. Julie completed an internship with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland in the Credit Risk Management Department this past summer. She plans to work in the banking or insurance industry after graduation working either in the actuary or financial analyst field.

Jacob Hretz

Jacob is a senior finance major, economics minor from Canton, Michigan. He is currently the manager of the Financial sector and is set to graduate this spring. Jacob has worked at State Farm among various other jobs. After graduation, he would like to pursue a career as a financial advisor or stock analyst and would like to work in either Chicago or London. Jacob attends over 50 sporting events a year and frequently attends concerts.

Matt is a senior finance major who is the current manager of the Industrials & Materials sector. Matt is currently an intern in the Financial Planning and analysis department at Medpace. Matt would like to pursue a career in investments or financial planning.

Ian is a senior Finance Major from Brookfield, Ohio. He is currently working as a market research intern with Nielson. In addition to interning at Nielson, he is also involved with the Financial Management Association. In his free time, he likes to watch sports and root for his Cincinnati Bengals!

Ryan Alleman

Ryan Alleman is a Finance major from the Greater Cincinnati area. Within the fund, Ryan is responsible for the Industrials and Materials sectors. This past summer Ryan completed an internship in the Purchasing Department of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing of North America. Currently, Ryan serves as a student representative to the Advisory Committee of the University Planning & Resourcing Council at Xavier, as well as Student Body President. Upon graduation, Ryan will be employed with Macy's Inc within the Finance Executive Development Program.

 

John Barber

John Barber is a manager for the Consumer Staples and Consumer Discretionary sectors. In his first semester with the fund, he was an analyst in the Energy sector. John is a Finance major from Springfield, KY. He is a former intern of Fort Washington Investment Advisors in Cincinnati, and currently works part-time at the O'Connor Sports Center at Xavier. He is also a board member of Xavier's Alternative Breaks program, the 4pm Student Mass Coordinator, a volunteer mentor/tutor, and enjoys playing intramural football and basketball at Xavier. Upon graduation in May 2012, John plans to seek employment incorporate finance.

 

 

Steve Latos

Steve Latos is a Finance Major/Information Technology minor from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL. As a member of the investment fund, Steve was a Consumer Staples analyst during his first semester and currently manages both the Consumer Staples and Consumer Discretionary sectors. Currently, he is an intern for the River Hills Group at Merrill for American Internet Services Network in the summer of 2010. Out of the classroom, Steve is the Vice President of the Xavier Club Golf team and a starting pitcher on the Xavier Club Baseball team. Upon graduation, Steve is planning to start his career in investment banking.

 

 

Curtis May

J. Curtis May is a senior Finance Major from Akron, Ohio. He oversees the information technology sector for the Investment Fund. During school year, Curtis is employed by the Applied Finance Department as a Bloomberg Research Analyst. Aside from the Fund, Curtis plays for the Xavier University Men’s Club Volleyball team, and is also a practice player for the Xavier Women’s basketball team.

 

 

Jaclyn O'Driscoll

Jaclyn is a Finance major with an Economics minor, who is from Los Angeles, CA. She currently oversees the Healthcare sector. Jaclyn is the senior resident assistant in Buenger Residence hall, and over the summer she interned a Merrill Lynch. She has previously interned at Fifth Third in their Investment Advisors division as well. As a junior, she was Vice President of the Financial Management Association and a member of the University Board for Scholarships and Financial Aid. Upon graduation, Jaclyn will be employed with Macy's Inc.in the executive development program.

Steve Rosenbaum is a Finance Major/Information Technology Minor. From Oak Lawn, Illinois, Steve was a Consumer Staple Analyst for his first semester in the Investment Fund. He now helps manage the Consumer Staples, Consumer Discretionary, and Information Technology sectors. Steve currently interns for Raymond James Financial Services as the branch "client care specialist." He is also the President of the Xavier Club Baseball team and a member of the Financial Management Association. In his free time, Steve enjoys golfing, playing softball, watching the Chicago White Sox, Green Bay Packers, and Xavier Basketball.

 

 

Joe Simoneau

Joe Simoneau is a Finance major with a minor in economics. He is from Trumbull, Connecticut. He interned over the past summer with a finance and accounting firm back home and plans on interning in New York City in the future. He is a member of the Xavier S.T.A.R. club and helps write for the Xavier Economics Magazine. In his free time, Joe likes to play soccer and watch football.

 

 

Phillip Weickert

Phillip Weickert is currently a senior Finance major at Xavier University. In his first semester with DCF, he was one of the Information Technology Sector Analysts. As a second semester student, Phil manages the Energy sector. When he is not working on his finance coursework, Phillip enjoys playing Basketball. He is in Alpha Psi. In addition to his Finance major he is majoring in Accounting. He has been successful in two internships in Public Accounting, where he worked a busy season at Deloitte & Touché, LLP as well as Grant Thornton, LLP.

Joe Bauer

Joe Bauer is Finance major with a Mathematics minor at Xavier University. Joe was the materials sector analyst as a member of the fund. Originally from Rochester, NY, Joe prides himself on his loyalty, especially to Western New York Professional Sports teams, regardless of their levels of success. When he is not working on his finance coursework, Joe enjoys playing Ice Hockey. He is currently the treasurer of the Xavier Club Ice Hockey Team, and also serves as the team captain. In addition, he serves on the Xavier Club Sports Council Peer Judicial Review Board. During the summers, Joe works as a Camp Leader at the Town of Chili Recreation Summer Day Camp. He also volunteers at the Big Brothers / Big Sisters Association of Cincinnati.

Joe D’Agostino, a class of 2011 Xavier graduate with a Finance Major/Economics Minor, is from Cleveland, Ohio. Joe managed Financial Sector as a member of DCF. Joe currently works for the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland as an Assistant Bank Examiner. At Xavier, Joe was employed by both the Athletic Department as a Business Intern and in the Applied Finance Department as a Bloomberg Specialist. Joe served as the president of the Xavier University Club Baseball team during his senior year and was a member of the Financial Management Association. In his free time, Joe enjoys being involved in sports of all kinds and writing.

Griffin Jacques

Griffin Jacques graduated from Xavier University in May 2011 with degrees in Finance and Economics. He is originally from South Bend, IN and has grown up as a Notre Dame fan throughout his entire life. His interests include Notre Dame, Chicago teams, and Xavier basketball. He also enjoys playing sports and reading about financial and economic issues. His role on the Fund included being the Consumer Staples analyst. He has worked for Janco Composites, Inc., a reinforced plastics manufacturer in South Bend, IN, and Abt SRBI, Inc., a research and consulting firm. Griffin is looking for a job as an equity analyst once he graduates from Xavier.

Michael Krzan

Michael Krzan is a pursuing a degree in Finance and Accounting. As a member of the fund, Michael oversaw the information technology sector. Originally from Columbus, he returned to his hometown in the summer of 2010 to complete an internship within the Credit Risk Management arm of PNC Financial Services. Currently, Michael is the President of the Financial Management Association and an Analyst Intern with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. His career interests are concentrated on either investment banking, specifically focusing on loan syndications, or value investing. In his leisure time, Michael enjoys playing competitive sports. He is the captain of his Intramural Flag Football team and a member of the Xavier Boxing Club.

Greg Markgraf

Greg Markgraf is 2011 Xavier University graduate, having been a Finance and Marketing double major. He served as the Consumer Discretionary Sector Analyst while a member of DCF. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Greg is an ardent fan of Cincinnati sports, regardless of their success (or lack thereof). Outside of the fund, Greg participated in the Kao Brands Marketing Challenging and was the Vice President of Pledge Education for Delta Sigma Pi, the campus’ professional business fraternity. Greg also worked part time at Northland Volkswagen, and is currently working for Dunnhumby as a Market Research Analyst.

Eric Nicholas

Eric Nicolas is a 2011 Xavier Graduate, graduating with a degree in Finance. Eric came to Xavier from the local Cincinnati area. He was the telecommunications and information technology sector analyst as a member of the fund. Eric is working as a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual in West Chester, Ohio. When not in the classroom Eric interned at Merrill Lynch under the wealth managers Mark Broderick, Brian DeGroft, and Cynthia Yozwiak. In addition, he also managed The Flying Pizza, a small family owned New York Pizzeria, located in the Mason area. Eric loves to travel and feels blessed to have had the opportunity study in Barcelona, Spain, where he expanded his skills in the Spanish language and took classes on European business practices. Little know facts about Eric are that he is a proficient Saxophone player as well as a downhill long boarding enthusiast.

Patrick Polomsky

Patrick Polomsky is a 2011 Xavier University graduate from Cleveland, Ohio. Pat majored in Finance, while also earning minors in Mathematics and Information Systems. Pat served as the healthcare sector analyst. After passing the finance section of the Actuarial Exam, Pat is currently employed with Stout Risius Ross as a Financial Analyst. Patrick enjoys traveling and has studied the German language for 5 years. In the summer of 2010 Patrick worked as an Actuarial Intern with Liberty Mutual where he worked on a number of different projects. Patrick has also worked for The Midland Company as a Customer Service Representative in their Claims Department. At Xavier, Pat worked in the Learning Assistant Center tutoring fellow students in their Finance classes. Patrick is very thankful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of Xavier’s Student Investment Fund.

Dan is from Hudson, OH and held the position of Treasurer for the Financial Management Association while at Xavier. Since May 2011, Dan has been working for Fifth Third Bank in the Commercial Associate Program.

Robert Sunleaf

Robert Sunleaf is a 2011 Xavier University graduate, earning a degree in Finance. He is originally from the Chicago area. Robert was responsible for the telecommunications as well as information technology sector when he was a part of the investment fund. Robert currently works for Texas Instruments in Dallas, TX. Outside of class, Robert partook in an internship at Scottrade assisting two experienced stockbrokers. Robert is also a veteran resident assistant and worked as a certified pharmacy technician at Walgreens. His extracurricular activities include acting as president of the Business Leaders for Tomorrow student organization. In his spare time, Robert enjoys traveling and has had the opportunity to spend several weeks in Europe but most enjoys his trips to the Caribbean.

Ben is a Finance major from Indianapolis whooversaw the Industrials sector in his two semesters with the fund. Ben served as the Chief Executive Officer for the D'Artagnan Capital Fund for the fall 2011 semester. During the school year, he runs Track and Field while holding a part-time internship at Valuation Research Corporation. Upon graduation, Ben will beginhis career at Stout, Risiuous, Ross as an analyst in their valuation and financial opinion group.
