Dr. Mee-Shew Cheung is an Associate Professor of Marketing, and the Director of the Center for International Business at the Williams College of Business, Xavier University. She teaches International Marketing and international business related courses at the undergraduate, MBA, and executive levels.
Dr. Cheung holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and International Business from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Before her academic career, she held a senior financial and strategic management position at a consulting firm with regional offices across Asia, and had been assigned to work in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong and China. She also served as visiting faculty at the Great Wall MBA program in Tianjin, China.
Dr. Cheung's research interests include global supply chain management, inter-organizational learning theories and marketing strategies in global subsistence marketplaces. Her work has been accepted for publication in several Financial Times Top 40 Journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Operations Management, MIT-Sloan Management Review, and other outlets such as Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of World Business, International Journal of Management and Decision Making.
Dr. Cheung is currently the academic advisor for the Marketing Club, as well as the co-advisor for the International Business Association at Xavier. She received the Williams College of Business Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2007. Most recently, she was awarded the O'Conor Research Fellowship. For year 2010-11, she also serves as a mentor for the Downing Research Scholarship Program.
