Rashmi Assudani, Ph.D.

Dr. Assudani joined Xavier University's Williams College of Business in the Fall of 2005. Her research interests include knowledge management in geographically distributed work arrangements and the implications this has for organizations and managers. Her research interests also span other areas such as managing innovation for new service and product development, and ethnic entrepreneurship. Her teaching interests include subject matters such as managerial behavior, creativity and innovation, and managing geographically dispersed work. Dr. Assudani's dissertation research has focused on the variables that have an impact on the performance of geographically distributed teams. Through a series of longitudinal studies, her research furnishes evidence about the impact of variables such as degree of familiarity, degree of redundancy and nature of task on the performance of such teams. The findings from this research have profound implications on the contemporary technology-driven workplace, specifically on issues such as knowledge management, innovation and outsourcing. Her research has been recognized in the academic and practitioner community through a number of awards. These awards include 2005 Outstanding Student Paper Award (Academy of Management - Management Consulting division), 2002 Outstanding Student Paper Award (Academy of Management - Management Consulting division), 1999 Outstanding Student Paper Award (Academy of Management - Management Consulting division), and 1998 Award of Excellence - Honorable Mention Award (Administrative Sciences Association of Canada). In addition, her research has been published in various avenues such as journals (Journal of Knowledge Management, International Journal of Networking and Virtual organizations, International Journal of Management & Decision Making and Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship), books and conference proceedings. Additionally, she is on the International Review Board of the Journal of E-Working, and is on the Placement Committee at the Academy of Management.

Gale Beckett

Gale D. Beckett is a Vice President - Corporate Quality Assurance & Innovation Diamond Management at Procter & Gamble. She holds a B.S. ChE from University of Colorado in 1978. She is a part of executive committee, Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center from 2003 to present. She is also the President of American Chamber of Commerce, Tianjin, China from 1996-97 and was a part of United Way Committee, Greensboro in 1994. Prior to her current role Gale was the Vice President for Product Supply Global Male Grooming & Braun in 2009 and Vice President - Product Supply Global Home Care, Snacks and Coffee in the year 2007. Prior to these positions Gale held several other strategic positions throughout her career.

Ravi Chinta, Ph.D.
     Associate Professor - Management & Entrepreneurship
     Williams College of Business

Dr. Ravi Chinta is an Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship, teach Supply Chain Management, Operations, and Principles of Management courses as Downing Professor and CINTAS Ethics Fellow at Xavier University, Cincinnati. Dr. Chinta holds Ph.D. in strategy from University of Pittsburgh, and has taught courses to MBAs, Executive MBAs and in many internal company training programs. Dr. Chinta holds a B.Tech from IIT, Madras, India and MBA from IIM, Calcutta, India. Dr. Chinta published over 25 peer-reviewed papers and currently has four papers in work-in-progress state and has over 40 intra-company white papers on strategic issues. Dr. Chinta have made to over 20 major conference presentations, and over a 100 internal company presentations. Dr. Chinta is expert in financial planning and market development with significant project management experience and completed over 100 business valuations (using probabilistic financial evaluation models), led over 60 strategy and finance projects (using option pricing for licensing technology) and also directed mail campaigns for customer acquisition and retention programs. Dr. Chinta is a founding member of FENG (Financial Networking Group), now 70,000 strong in USA. Dr. Chinta was also on the "Penn State University - Ben Franklin Ventures" Board in Harrisburg, PA.

Alfonso Cornejo

Alfonso Cornejo is president of AC & Consulting Associates, a Business Consulting firm headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Cornejo has a well- rounded background in all facets of business with particular expertise in Manufacturing and Human Resources. Before entering the consulting field Mr. Cornejo worked for a total of 30 years with several Fortune 500 Companies i.e., Procter & Gamble, Clorox, Chiquita Brands. Mr. Cornejo has implemented successfully major change initiatives with a proactive and positive approach in the United States as well as in International locations. His main areas of expertise are business development initiatives in Latin America including the Integration and Mergers and Acquisitions, as well as providing Human Resources support for companies interested in their Hispanic workforce development. Mr. Cornejo is an active speaker and trainer on the topics of Doing Business in Latin America, Hispanic Workforce Development, Hispanic Culture, and Diversity initiatives with Hispanic perspective. He writes Hispanic related articles for the Cincinnati Business Courier. Mr.Cornejo was born, raised and educated in Mexico. Holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Mexico. Mr. Cornejo is in the board of Directors of: The Freedom Center, United Way, The Fine Arts Fund, The Workforce Investment board, NKITA the Northern Kentucky International Trade Association and the Agenda 360 Regional initiative. Mr. Cornejo has been recognized by the state of Ohio as a distinguish Hispanic and has received awards from LULAC and The National Society of Hispanic MBA's (NSHMBA). Mr. Cornejo has been the President of the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA for the last 7 years and is also founder of Hispanics Avanzando Hispanics that is a non-for profit entity that organizes the Cincy-Cinco Latino charity festival each year in Cincinnati. This festival which has become the largest Hispanic Spring festival in the Midwest of the USA has granted more than $ 190,000 to Heath Care and educational institutions that support Hispanics in the Cincinnati-metro area.

Philip Foster is a Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for Catholic Health Initiatives. Catholic Health Initiatives owns and operates 73 acute care hospitals in 19 states. He is also President of First Initiatives Insurance Ltd., a Grand Cayman domiciled property and casualty insurance carrier and President of Nazareth Assurance Company (Burlington, VT). Philip is a board member of several organizations including Preferred Professional Insurance Company (Omaha, NE), Alternative Insurance Management Services (Denver, CO), and Captive Management Initiatives (Grand Cayman).

Jake Fullard III
     Senior Engineer
     AK Steel

Jake Fullard III is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. He started his professional life in the United States Air Force, where he spent 10 years, 3 of which were spent working overseas. During this period, he gained invaluable experience and developed an expertise in the areas of fiscal management, cost accounting and expenditure analysis, foreign national employment contract management, and resource management. Upon leaving the Air Force, Jake began his undergraduate studies in the field of Electrical Engineering. During this time he completed internships at the Anheuser Bush Corporate Engineering's Planning and Development department in St, Louis, Missouri, Delphi Corporation's Controls Engineering Department at their thermal compressor plant in Moraine, Ohio, and the engineering department at Mission Research in Beavercreek, Ohio which was a government R&D contractor who developed the stealth technology for the Air Force. Upon graduating from Wright State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Jake began working for the Delphi Corporation as a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Controls Engineering. During his time at Delphi, he earned a Master's degree in Operations Management from Kettering University in 2008. In 2008, when Delphi closed its US operations, Jake went to work for AK Steel at its Middletown Works operations in Middletown, Ohio where he is currently employed as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Electronic Maintenance and Controls. During his time at AK Steel, Jake again began graduate studies and recently earned a MBA with a concentration in Manufacturing Engineering from Kettering University. In addition to joining the executive advisory board for the Center for International Business at Xavier University, Jake also serves on the executive advisory board for the Electronics Program for ITT Tech, in Dayton, Ohio.

Tim Kruse

Timothy Kruse - Finance Department - Assistant Professor - received his Bachelor of Science in Materials Sciences Engineering from Purdue University and his MBA in Finance from the University of Missouri. Tim received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1997 and has published in the Journal of Financial Economics and Financial Management among others. His teaching and research interests include mergers and acquisitions, corporate control, and international finance.

Jeffery Lay holds an MBA, CMT and working as a Managing Director with Oxford Financial Group, Ltd. in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, he maintains and develops client relationships with affluent families, senior executives, institutions and foundations in the Greater Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Prior to joining Oxford, Jeff was a private wealth advisor to high net worth individuals, institutions, and nonprofit organizations at Neuberger Berman, a Lehman Brothers Company until 2008, when he co-founded a global wealth management firm in Cincinnati. Mina Lee, Ph.D.
     Assistant Professor - Management & Entrepreneurship

Dr. Lee came aboard Williams College of Business as an Assistant Professor in 2010. Dr. Lee had studied in Korea, United Kingdom, and United States. She received her LL.M. in International Economic Law at the University of Warwick and M.B.A. at Purdue University. She obtained a Ph.D. in Strategic Management at Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. She earned the Krannert Certificate for Outstanding Teaching Award in 2007. Prior to joining academe, she had worked as a newspaper reporter in Korea. Currently, Dr. Lee teaches Strategic Management and International Management. Her research investigates determinants of innovation after divestiture, determinants of diversification modes, and global supplier management. Her work has been published in Int'l Journal of Business and Globalisation, Journal of Small Business Strategy, etc. She also participated in the Academy of Management Junior Faculty Consortium (invitation only; Business Policy division) in summer 2010.

Vivek Narendran (MD)
     Associate Professor & Director - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
     Cincinnati Children's Hospital

Dr. Vivek Narendran is Medical Director at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Newborn Nursery, The University Hospital. He is Medical Director of Cincinnati Perinatal Outreach Project and Director of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Newborn Services, Christ Hospital. Dr. Narendran is also an associate Professor at University of Cincinnati, Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Narendran completed his Residency in Pediatrics in 1998 and Fellowship in Neonatology in 2000 from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Prior to that Dr. Narendran has also done his Residency in Pediatrics from Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester, United Kingdom in 1996 and Fellowship in Neonatology, Westmead Hospital, Sydney, Australia in 1994. Dr. Narendran completed his MD/DNB from JN Medical College, Belgaum, India in 1990 and MBBS from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, India in 1985. Dr. Narendran has clinical interests in Non-Invasive Ventilation of the Preterm Infant, Business Case for Quality Improvements. Dr. Narendran has research interests in innate immunity of the skin with a particular focus on epidermal biomarkers and antimicrobial peptides on the skin surface. Dr. Narendran has publishes several medical publications.

Kelly Nelson

Ms. Nelson began her career with the company in 1998 as manager, human resources at the Mansfield Works. She advanced to manager, human resources at Rockport Works in 2003. She was named general manager, labor relations for AK Steel in 2004, and general manager, human resources - Middletown Works in August 2006. Prior to joining the company, she was staff supervisor, personnel at the Clairton (Pennsylvania) Coke Works of U.S. Steel Corp. During her career at U.S. Steel, she also held various positions in operations, labor relations, personnel and employee benefits. Her work has been published in "Managers' Bookshelf: A Mosaic of Contemporary Views," a college textbook used in organizational behavior and human resources courses. Ms. Nelson serves on Xavier University's advisory board for the executive MBA program. She volunteers for breast cancer cure programs, domestic abuse assistance programs, and Assistance Dogs of America. She has been active in the past with the YMCA and United Way. Ms. Nelson holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration with a human resources concentration from the University of Minnesota, and she is a graduate of Xavier University's Executive MBA program. She served for four years in the U.S. Marine Corps in the signals intelligence field and attained the rank of sergeant.

Christopher Panczyk, Ph.D.

Since March 2012, Christopher Panczyk has been managing advanced technology programs at GE Aviation focused on establishing manufacturing processes for new composite materials for the global aviation industry. Prior to his role at GE, Dr. Panczyk was Director of Process Engineering and Quality Assurance for SUMCO Corp, a global provider of silicon wafer products supplying the semiconductor industry. Since 1996, Dr. Panczyk has held various roles in R&D, Engineering, and Quality working closely with customers and suppliers throughout Asia and the US.

Daewoo Park, Ph.D.

Dr. Daewoo Park is the Chair for the Management and Entrepreneurship Department in the Williams College of Business. Dr. Park is the College's D.J. O'Conor Professor and has taught entrepreneurship, management, strategy courses for undergraduate, MBA and executive MBA students.He was the Chair for Xavier Entrepreneurship Center from 2007 to 2009. He built Xavier's Undergraduate Entrepreneurship program to become #11 in US (out of 2,500 business schools) and #1 among 28 Jesuit Business Schools (including Georgetown, Boston College, Santa Clara, Loyola Marymount, etc.) 72 journal publications and 145 conference presentations: Dr. Park has published his research in numerous entrepreneurship journals including the Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Small Business Strategy (3), and Journal of Management and Enterprise Development, and in prestigious strategy and management journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Executive, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Research (2), Management International Review, Multinational Business Review, Thunderbird International Business Review, Journal of Managerial Issues, Journal of Leadership Studies (3), Journal of Leadership & Org Development, Journal of Asian Business, Global Business and Finance Review, etc. He has served as a guest editor for several management journals (Global Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain Management, and Strategic Project Management areas). His research was supported by the U.S. Department of Education (CIBER research fellowship) and numerous research foundations. He also received the 2010 Emerald Outstanding Paper Award (with Lifang Wu) at the 2010 Academy of Management Montreal meeting and the 2008 Citation of Excellence Award (with Hema A. Krishnan and Mike Hitt) at the 2008 Academy of Management Anaheim meeting. Dr. Park has taught the only online, simulation-based MBA capstone strategy course among the Jesuit colleges, has managed the annual high school business simulation competitions on campus, as well as implemented the College's undergraduate simulation competitions. In 2008 and 2009, he also prepared and successfully managed the First and Second Ohio's Only Statewide Entrepreneurship Conference and Competition (with sponsorship from Ohio State Government and several businesses). Since 2008, he has also successfully designed and led MBA study tour to Korea and Japan during spring break period. Dr. Park worked for IBM as a marketing representative, serving small and medium-sized enterprises. He received his M.B.A. from the University of Texas, at Austin, and his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University

Roger Roundhouse

Roger A. Roundhouse has been Senior Vice President and General Manager of Specialty Wire Harnesses for General Cable since October 2006. In 2007, he also assumed responsibility for the Company's Telecommunications business for a period of two years. Roundhouse began his career with General Cable in 1992 in product management for the Outside Voice & Data Team and in 1994, joined the Automotive Team as Product Manager. After returning from an international business assignment in Europe in 1997, he was promoted to Business Unit Manager, Automotive Products. In 2002, Roundhouse was appointed Vice President and General Manager of Automotive Products. In 2004, he accepted the additional responsibility of managing the Company's Wire Harnesses & Assemblies Products business. Roundhouse holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Ohio University and a Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University. Clint Schertzer, Ph.D.
     Associate Professor - Marketing

Dr. Schertzer has been on the graduate business faculty at Xavier University since 1974, teaching courses in the areas of marketing research and strategic business planning. In addition to teaching training and education he maintains an active consulting practice as president of Strategic Insights, a professional business consultancy in business since 1985. Clint has a unique background encompassing both finance and marketing. His BSBA and MBA are both in Finance. His Ph.D. is in Marketing with minors in Finance and Social Psychology. This unique combination brings a very "bottom line" orientation to marketing and strategic planning often not presented. He understands the need to select market positions, segments and strategies, yet also understands and stresses the financial realities of achieving target strategies. Anyone can set business and marketing strategies, not everyone can implement them. Married, with two adult children, Clint and his wife Susan live in Mt.Washington.

Kathy Walker
     President
     Elm Street Resources Inc.

For over the past 20 years, Mrs. Walker has served as President and CEO of Elm Street Resources, Inc., her wholly owned energy marketing company based in Paintsville, Kentucky. She was born in Tucson, Arizona, but essentially grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, where she graduated from Bryan Station High School and attended the University of Kentucky School of Business and Economics. She subsequently obtained her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University, where she was selected for membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business school honor society. Prior to starting her own company, she served as Secretary/Treasurer and Controller of Agip Coal, USA, a Washington, D.C. based subsidiary of ENI, the Italian energy conglomerate. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee and Finance Committee of the National Coal Council, Washington, D.C., a federal advisory committee; a member of the Kentucky Judicial Campaign Conduct Committee, Louisville, Kentucky, a judicial ethics committee; and an Advisory Board Member to the Center for International Business at Xavier University. She is a former Advisory Director of the Commonwealth of Kentucky Charitable Gaming Commission, Frankfort, Kentucky. Other past accomplishments include founder and board member of the Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the United States of America, New York, New York; and founder and board member of First Security Bank, Lexington, Kentucky. Mrs. Walker and her husband have two children, Bryan and Alessandra. Bryan is completing his Masters at Xavier and Alessandra is entering her senior year in high school. The family resides in Paintsville, Kentucky.

David Yi, Ph.D.

Dr. David Yi is an Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Williams College of Business, Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Yi holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, M.S. in Economics in 2005, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001. Prior to this he completed B.A. in Economics with Cum Laude, Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. His fields of interest include Public Economics, Political Economy, Technical Efficiency and Development Economics. Dr. Yi has published several publications and gave presentations at Academy of Management Meeting, Midwest Economic Association Conference at Cleveland, OH and Minneapolis, MN, Midwest Economic Theory Conference at Washington University and IUPUI, Indiana.
