Office of Web Services

How We Work

The needs of University colleges, departments and centers have evolved from simple static websites to more complex web applications enabling departments to streamline their business processes. To meet the growing needs of our clients, Web Services developed a comprehensive project management process to ensure our clients' goals are met on every project.

Our Process

Define - Discuss the scope of the project, desired schedule, budget constraints, and stakeholders with the client. When necessary, cost estimates and agreements are prepared. A project management website, including milestones and deliverables, is created for tracking progress from concept through launch.

Design- Storyboards, wireframes, and sitemaps are created and reviewed with the client. After approval, user interface mockups are designed for the website or application.

Develop- Valid XHTML/CSS is produced based on the approved functionality requirements and user interface design. ColdFusion code is created where required for dynamic functionality.

Test/Review- Functionality testing conducted with clients and user groups, and security review of dynamic code is performed.

Launch- The website or application is launched and monitored.

Refine- User feedback is collected, and web traffic statistics are monitored. Work begins with the client(s) to refine and expand the website as necessary.
