Archive exhibit

Senior HAB major Charles Rosebrough's exhibit,“The Lord Gave and the Lord Took Away”: The Fire of 1882 is on display on the third floor of the McDonald Library. Offered in conjunction with the Xavier University Archives, the exhibit stems from Rosebrough's work transcribing and translating the Archives manuscript Historia Domus, a collection of annual reports written by Jesuit house historians of the downtown St. Xavier Church. Historia Domus offers new insight into the enormous fire that occurred the night of April 6-7, 1882, causing $100,000 in damage and completely gutting St. Xavier Church. The exhibit includes photos, a fire artifact, the Historia Domus and other items. It is on display until Nov. 26.
