Pope Francis' encyclical on the environment is available on the Jesuit Resource website. Also on the page are political science professor Anas Malik's article “Towards Muslim Engagement with Pope Francis’ Encyclical 'Laudato Si'” as well as desktop copies of the prayers in the encyclica, including that from which the title is drawn, "Laudato Si/Praise Be."

Master's in Customer Analytics

The Williams College of Business is launching a new degree program for the fall semester that enables students to become adept at managing and analyzing large databases in order to make informed and ethical decisions. The need for the Master of Science in Customer Analytics is greater in Cincinnati because the region has a large number of consumer-oriented companies that are ready to hire graduates with these skills. Hailstones and chapel access

Beginning today, Monday, June 29, the front entrance to Bellarmine Chapel is closed because of construction work on the Xavier Yard. The front entrance to Hailstones remains open. Please review the diagram showing the pedestrian path while this work is in progress.

Spirit Celebration 2015

Save the date of Wednesday, Sept. 9, for Spirit Celebration, the special Mass and ice cream social that is part of a long Jesuit tradition dating back to 1548 honoring the beginning of the academic year. This year's celebration is on the Academic Mall and includes a blessing of Alter Hall. So that all may attend, classes and meetings will be suspended and offices will be closed from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Police chief candidates

The Xavier Police Department invites the campus community to open forums to meet the three finalists for the position of Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police. The open sessions are from 1:45 p.m.-2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, Wednesday, July 1, and Thursday, July 2, in Smith Hall 344. Candidate resumés are accessible by clicking on their names. Support staff time sheets

Because of the July 4 holiday, support staff employees' Web Time Entry Timesheets for pay date July 2 were due by noon on Friday, June 26, with supervisors' approval by the end of the day. Employees are encouraged to contact their supervisors to let them know their time has been submitted for approval. For more information, call Kerry Brown at 3436.

Reception for Jeff Briggs

All are invited to a farewell reception for Jeff Briggs on Wednesday, July 1, from 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. in Long Recital Hall, Edgecliff Hall. Jeff is leaving Xavier for a new opportunity as CFO at Thomas More College. His last day here is July 2. All are invited to celebrate and wish him well.
