Campus work projects

The Office of Physical Plant has posted the list of replacement and renewal projects to be completed in fiscal year 2016. These projects are designed to reduce the deferred maintenance on campus. Many are to be completed over the summer. View the list of projects and find descriptions of each.

PD basketball tournament

The first Community Oriented Policing Basketball Tournament is on Sunday, April 12, from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on the outdoor courts by the Cintas Center. The winner among four teams of students will play against the winner among Xavier police, Cincinnati police and Cincinnati fire departments, including Cincinnati police chief Jeffrey Blackwell. The winning team will be awarded a trophy to be housed in Ryan's Pub until next year's tournament. Rain Location is the O'Connor Gym. View the police and fire flier to learn more.

Wellness programming grants

An information session for student groups, faculty and staff interested in applying for wellness programming grants is on Tuesday, March 31, from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. in the Gallagher Student Center Room 330. Grants of up to $750 will be awarded for programming and events that support wellness education on campus during the fall of 2015. Proposals should be submitted by April 27. Sexual Assault awareness

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend one of the many educational and awareness-building events planned for Xavier's 2015 Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Visit the calendar of events for details about upcoming events.

Diversity awareness

The Multicultural, Gender and Women's Center offers one and a half-hour sessions about gender and diversity to Xavier faculty and staff. All sessions of Diversity Awareness 101: Rewards and Challenges of Diverse Learning Communities are in the Schiff Conference Center on Mondays, April 20, May 4 and June 6, and Friday, May 29. Sessions are from 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Please register to attend.

Community Blend

Community Blend, a neighborhood co-op coffee shop at 3546 Montgomery Road, has new hours. The shop is open from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and is now serving breakfast burritos and veggie patties so you can build your own veggie sandwich. Ten Thousand Villages, a fair-trade partner with Community Blend, has merchandise for sale at the shop. Xavier students, faculty and staff are encouraged to visit and support the business.
