Provost Scott Chadwick invites the Xavier community to visit his blog page. The provost will be blogging regularly and sharing his thoughts about innovation in higher education with a systems focus, hoping to engage others interested in this mindset and practice.

University Convocation

The Xavier community is invited to the University Convocation on Monday, Feb. 2, from 3:00 p.m.-4:15 p.m. in the Duff Banquet Room of the Cintas Center. The convocation will be streamed live via a link that will be included in an announcement later this week. Light refreshments will be served.

Student leadership nominations

The deadline to nominate students for the 2015 All Honors Day Student Leadership Assembly is Friday, Jan. 30. Consider nominating a student who has demonstrated exemplary leadership, commitment, dedication or contribution to the Xavier community. Visit the Student Involvement website to access the list of awards, their descriptions and the nomination form. The Student Leadership Assembly is part of All Honors Day on Saturday, April 25. CFI open house

The Center for Innovation (CFI) is hosting an open house and ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. The opening ceremony at 4:30 p.m. includes a blessing from Fr. Michael Graham and a major announcement from the CFI. Refreshments are being served. The CFI is at 1601 Dana Ave. at the corner of Woodburn and Dana. IT tech grants

The Information Technologies division is offering grants of up to $10,000 each to three faculty members or teams of faculty members who want to use technology in a new and/or innovative way during the 2015-2016 academic year. Technology requests may include software applications, hardware and devices. The deadline for applications is Friday, Feb. 27. Grants will be awarded by Friday, March 20. W-2 forms for 2014

The 2014 W-2 forms are now available under the Employee Services tab accessed from the Self-Service area of the Employee Hub. This year, employees are required to consent to use of the electronic version of the form before accessing it. Paper W-2s will be sent to home addresses at the end of January to those who don't give electronic consent. Call payroll at 3436 or 1978 to learn more.
