One Billion Rising Campaign

The statistics say that 1 in 3 women on this planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime.  By participating in the One Billion Rising Campaign at Xavier University you took a brave stand to say NO MORE!  Thank you for your support.  The video below is a testament to ending this violence and bringing justice to all.  Enjoy!

If you liked this video, please consider being a part of our spring event Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault and Gender Violence.  Men literally walk one mile in high-heeled shoes to protest sexualized violence and educate their communities.  The march helps solidify that sexualized violence affects not only the victim of the crime but also the men in their lives and communities.

Participants can register for this event via OrgSync using the following link: https://orgsync.com/44452/forms/93214.  All participants must have at least three sponsors, be willing to donate one hygiene product for the hygiene drive, and pay a $5 registration fee which will be turned in at the walk.  All proceeds will be going to the YWCA, a local battered women's shelter.  In addition, participants must provide their own high heels for the event.

If you know a man that is brave enough to "walk a mile in her shoes," encourage him to join the movement.  Together we can stop the violence and bring justice to all!  For more information please contact Kate Shirk at shirkk@xavier.edu or join our Facebook page Walk a Mile in Her Shoes at Xavier University.

What does ONE BILLION people dancing for justice look like?  A revolution!
