Student Involvement
Orientation Team
The Manresa program is unique in that it is almost entirely planned and carried out by current Xavier students. The dedication of many students to the program shows that Manresa is an integral part of the experience of attending Xavier University. Following are some of the positions of these students, who you will be meeting at Manresa—your own "welcome wagon."
Orientation team refers to everyone directly involved with implementing Manresa. The orientation team is a very energetic group and consists of:
- Manresa core
A team of six students supervised by the assistant director of student involvement that coordinates all components of Manresa and makes sure that everyone has fun. Click on the link for full descriptions of the six student positions.
- Group leaders
Returning students who lead the small groups (15-20) of new students during Manresa. Facilitate discussions, oversee games, show new students around campus, and more. Responsible for providing information and helping new students have a great time.
- Staff members
Returning students who are in charge of all "behind-the-scenes" work that is so important in making the orientation program run smoothly. Coordinate move-in procedures, organize the set-up, and see to it that everything's ready for new students.
- Volunteers
Countless faculty, staff, administrators and alumni who help out during the four-day program.
