Leadership Programs
Leadership development occurs all over campus at Xavier University. Whether you are in class, participating in a club or team sport, performing community service, or leading a campus organization, opportunities to develop leadership skills are endless at Xavier. The Office of Office of Student Involvement strives to help students discover leadership opportunities and develop their leadership potential.
Mission
Xavier's leadership development programs provide avenues to enhance students' leadership abilities while increasing their awareness of civic responsibility. Leadership development includes opportunities for practical leadership experiences in combination with reflection and discussion. On this foundation, it works to instill in all students an understanding of leadership principles and the ability to apply this knowledge to the campus and beyond.
Objectives
- Offer training programs for students at various levels of leadership development
- Assist students in developing and understanding their personal leadership style
- Engage students in reflective exercises and discussions about their own leadership experiences
- Facilitate interaction between student leaders and community members to foster the concept of leadership as service beyond self
- Provide a varied program that responds to the diverse needs of all participants
