Leadership Interns

Student Involvement's Leadership Interns are student leaders who work as a team to facilitate leadership programming while continually developing and enhancing their individual leadership skills and talents. The interns provide opportunities for all students to grow in leadership through workshops, retreats, and speakers.  The interns facilitate programming in the following areas:

Emerging Leaders Programming

The interns design and facilitate programs for emerging campus leaders, including the annual Emerging Leaders overnight retreat for first and second year Xavier students and the weekly Emerging Leaders Initiative for first year students. These programs help students identify and enhance their leadership skills. The interns serve as mentors to their peers and model ways in which participants can apply the leadership lessons they learn to their clubs and organizations.

Advancing Leaders Programming

The interns organize leadership development opportunities for Xavier’s more experienced or advancing student leaders.  The primary responsibility is the Advanced Leadership Institute.  This cohort-based leadership program provides an opportunity for more experienced student leaders to continue to grow in their leadership development.

Special Events Programming

The interns provide flexible leadership programming to fit the needs of the Xavier community. They design and facilitate collaborative programs that demonstrate leadership in each of the following forms: leadership as reflection, leadership as recognition, leadership as action, leadership as education, and more. One of their most popular events is annual Club Olympics competition.
