SENIOR BOARD

The Senior Board is a University-Affiliated Organization that exists to celebrate the Xavier senior experience by providing activities that reflect the culmination of a developmental experience as an undergraduate student.

Applications for the 2013-2014 Senior Board are now open.  Interested junior class applicants can apply online here.
Applications will be due on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 5pm.


Senior Week

Senior Week is May 5 - 11, 2013           #XUSeniorWeek

The Senior Week program offers the Xavier graduating class a unique experience by providing a week-long series of events from the close of Final Exams leading up to Commencement.  Seniors are able to purchase Senior Week packages to participate in all of the events and activities throughout the week.  Packages are available for purchase online beginning in February.

Senior Board Participation Eligibility

Your package includes:
  • Senior Week Wristband, giving you access to all events
  • 1 ticket to the ticketed events such (Kings Island and Reds)
  • Transportation to off-campus events (excluding Stones Lanes and Discounted Lunch with Friends)

The events are subject to change based on venue availability and the discretion of the Senior Board and Office of Student Involvement.

You may not bring alcohol or other substances to any of the Senior Week activities.  Bags are subject to search upon departure for all of the events.

Sunday, May 5
Trip to Kings Island*
12pm - 7pm   Kings Island (Mason, OH)
Buses load for Kings Island at noon in Buenger Circle.  You will receive your Kings Island ticket as you board the bus.  Seniors must use our free transportation to and from Kings Island.  If you are not on the bus at noon, you have missed the trip.  Buses load at Kings Island between 6:30-7pm to return to campus.  Admission to Kings Island includes admission to Soak City Waterpark - bring your swimsuit and towel if you wish to check out Soak City!  

Monday, May 6
Community Service Event*
10am - 3pm
Seniors interested in participating in their final opportunity to perform service while at Xavier will be asked to register when picking up their Senior Week package.  Buses load at 9:30am in Buenger Circle to transport students to The Brighton Center (Newport, KY).  Buses will return from the service site to campus at 3pm.

Trip to Newport-on-the-Levee*
12pm - 4pm
Seniors planning to attend the Trip to Newport-on-the-Levee will be given a ticket to either AMC Theatres to see a movie with friends or to Gameworks - limited availability, first-come, first-served.  When boarding the bus, you will exchange your ticket for the actual pass.  You must use our free transportation to and from Newport-on-the-Levee.  Buses load at 11:30am in Buenger Circle to transport students to Newport and will reload in Newport between 3:30-4pm to return to campus.

"I Love The 80's" 80's-themed Boatt Dance*
9:30pm - 1am   BB Riverboats (Newport, KY)
Buses start loading for Senior Boat Dance at 9pm in Buenger Circle.  Seniors must use our free transportation to and from BB Riverboats.  Buses will return to campus starting at 1am.  Dress to impress in your 80's gear...we're serious.

Tuesday, May 7
"The Road to Success" Professional Development Workshop
Presented by Dr. Sue Kenford, Jonika Moore-Diggs, Greg Burwinkel

11am - 12pm   Kennedy Auditorium (CLC 412)
Panel discussion featuring Dr. Sue Kenford (Psychology/Psych Services), Jonika Moore-Diggs (Career Development), and Greg Burwinkel (retired business professional). This panel will focus on first job experiences, post-undergrad life, and workplace transitions. And highlight that there are many paths on the road to success in life! Question and answer will follow the panel.

"The Road to Happiness" Personal Development Workshop

Anne Ernst (Development), member of Xavier's first Women's Basketball and Volleyball teams, shares her holistic approach to living a fulfilling life.  This engaging dialogue will inspire seniors as they start their own road to happiness.

"You've Earned Your 'Wings'" Welcome New Alumni Event

"A Walk Down Memory Lane"Scavenger Hunt
2pm - 4pm   Meet on the Xavier Yard
A chance to recall some of the most bizarre, fun and obscure memories that you've had throughout your four years.  Meet on the Xavier Yard to pick up instructions starting at 2pm.

Cincinnati Reds v. Atlanta Braves Game*
7:10pm   Great American Ballpark
(Downtown Cincinnati)
Buses start loading in Buenger Circle at 6pm.  Seniors must use our free transportation to and from Great American Ballpark.  You will receive your Reds ticket as you board the bus.  Return buses will begin looping at the end of the game.  Seniors are invited to explore The Banks and Downtown Cincinnati following the game and to catch a ride back to campus at or before 12:30am.  Buses will return from The Banks near The Freedom Center.

Wednesday, May 8
Grillin' & Chillin' Outdoor Event
12pm - 2pm   Intramural Fields
Senior Board will host an outdoor grill out featuring hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers along with Cornhole and Kickball games.  Join us to catch up with friends and grab some lunch.

Trip to Horseshoe Casino*
1pm - 4pm   Horseshoe Casino (Over-The-Rhine)
Buses load for Horseshoe Casino at 12:45pm from Buenger Circle.  Seniors are encouraged to grab lunch at the Grillin' & Chillin'  event at noon and then head down to Horseshoe.  Seniors must use our free transportation to and from Horseshoe Casino.  Please note, you are encouraged to take money and gamble responsibly.  Buses will depart Horseshoe between 3:30-4pm to return to campus. YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD TO ENTER THE CASINO AND HAVE YOUR VALID ID!

Senior Ball*  **
9:30pm - 1am   Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens (Clifton, OH)
Buses start loading at 9pm for Senior Ball.  Don't forget your Senior Ball tickets!  All attendees must use the Senior Board-provided bus transportation and cannot drive themselves to the event.  Once the buses are unloaded, no additional guests will be admitted.  Only a portion of the Zoo will be open during Senior Ball with limited animal viewing.  These animals include Night Hunters (including cats), reptiles and giraffes.  Senior Board will provide a free photo booth onsite at the Zoo for commemorative photos.  The Zoo is a non-smoking facility, you may not smoke anywhere on Zoo property.  Once you leave, there is no re-entry.  Buses return between 12:30-1am.

Thursday, May 9
Trip to Stones Lanes
10am - 4pm   Stones Lanes (Norwood, OH)
In order to accomodate the size of the senior class at Stones Lanes, seniors will be split into three sessions (10am-12pm, 12-2pm and 2-4pm).  You will select your session at package pick-up and will receive a ticket indicating your time.  You must present this ticket at Stones when entering.

Multicultural Graduation Celebration
5:30pm - 7pm   Kennedy Auditorium (CLC)
Each year, the Office of Multicultural Affairs honors Xavier's undergraduate students of color with a celebration. The event marks the achievements of students who made a commitment to academic and social excellence, including significant involvement and commitment to the Office of Multicultural Affairs in a myriad of ways and are now graduating from Xavier.

Seniorpalooza!
6pm - 11pm   Xavier Yard
Food, entertainment, activities and music make up Seniorpalooza this year.  Join us for inflatables, mini golf, food, a magician, caricature artist, balloon artist and DJs Zach Freeman and John Kinney.

Friday, May 10
Senior Family Brunch**
12pm - 2pm   Hoff Dining Commons
Champagne will be sold separately.  Seniors will have a final opportunity to purchase additional tickets for Brunch at Senior Week Package pick-up.  All Brunch tickets must be pre-purchased; Attendees cannot purchase tickets on the day of the brunch.
