Dana & Herald Crossing

Contact: Steve Weissenburger, President

Last updated on August 08, 2002

Background

The crossing at Dana Avenue and Herald, where the Academic mall intersects Dana Avenue between Victory Parkway and Ledgewood Drive, currently has a crosswalk sign. Due to (1) increased traffic during peak times, (2) speeding by a large amount of drivers on Dana Avenue, and (3) the S-curve at the intersection the crossing can be very hard and dangerous. Currently, Village Residents as well as commuters on Dana Avenue are the main crossers. Starting next fall, employees will be crossing over to the F & W building, where new offices will open up

Goal
Have a stop sign or over the street bridge installed.

Resolution
A small painted median for pedestrians to wait in the middle of the street while crossing has been installed
