Priority
Registration
Priority registration
is for currently enrolled students only. No payment for tuition
and fees is required. Billing statements are mailed to students
after priority registration ends.
GRADUATE
STUDENTS:
Students may register at any time during normal office hours. Students
may also fax (745-2969), mail, or email their registration to the
Office of the Registrar. Registrations received other than in-person
will take 2 business days to process. We will not accept any registrations
submitted before 8am the first day of priority registration.
UNDERGRADUATE
STUDENTS:
Students may not register before their scheduled time.
However, students may register any time after their scheduled time,
but before the close of registration. (The priority registration
appointment time does not provide an excused absence from class.)
1) Get a Schedule
of Classes and registration
form (also available in the Office of the Registrar, Alter Hall,
129).
2) Make an appointment
to see an advisor. To register, an advisor's signature is
required on the registration form.
Students
with declared majors make an advising appointment with the Chair,
or a faculty member in their major department approved by the Chair.
Students
with undeclared majors in the College of Arts and Sciences must
make an advising appointment with their assigned academic advisor.
Students
with undeclared majors in the Williams College of Business must
see the Williams College of Business advisor.
3) With an advisor,
choose classes that fulfill degree requirements.
Write
several alternate courses on the lower half of the registration
form in case the first choices of classes are closed. The
gold copy of the registration form is to be kept by the advisor.
4) Priority registration
appointment times (stating the time each student may register) will
be posted outside the Office of the Registrar.
Appointment
times are assigned based on hours earned as of the end of
the previous semester. To ensure fairness, times with-in each group
are assigned randomly.
5) The registration
process begins in the basement of Alter Hall. At your
assigned time:
The
registration form will be checked for an advisor's signature.
The
time to register will be verified.
Students will
check for correct addresses and phone numbers.
Registrations
will then be processed in the main office.
6) Class schedule
changes may be done during the designated time period (from the beginning
of Open Registration through Late Registration). |
