Fitness Programs
All Xavier University Fitness Classes are sponsored by the Recreational Sports Department. Instructors are paid based on income from pass sales. There must be at least 5 participants in each class in order for the class to be held. The First Week of each session is FREE during the Fall and Spring. All participants in the Fitness Program in the Recreational Sports Department must sign a waiver. Waivers are good for the year.

Deep Water Aerobics - This is a high energy, upbeat class is for all fitness levels. It incorporates a variety of unique movements that stimulate all major muscle groups while keeping your heart rate pumping. A combination of aerobics and toning exercises are used to give you a full body workout.
Spinning - Spinning is a comprehensive, non-competitive cycling workout that focuses on interval, endurance, strength, and race day training to give you maximum cardiovascular and fitness benefits. All fitness levels are welcome to join this hour-long calorie blaster. Please bring a water bottle and a towel, and come prepared to challenge yourself!
Core Conditioning-Join us for this NEW CLASS. Come work your abs and lower body to achieve that toned body you have always wanted.
Total Body Sculpting - Looking for a way to get tight and toned? This class includes strengthening and toning exercises targeting all the major muscle groups and the ones in between for a total body workout. From your triceps to your abs down to your legs, you will see results from this class! All fitness levels are welcome, even those new to weight lifting.
Yoga - This classic yoga class focuses on practicing physical postures and poses to create connection and balance between the mind, body and spirit. Through this meditative class, you will develop strength, flexibility and inner peace.
Pilates - Pilates focuses on strengthening core postural and torso muscles to help keep the body balanced and the spine supported and aligned. Pilates teaches breath and body awareness, good posture and graceful movement while improving flexibility, agility and efficiency of motion. If you want to build strength without bulking up, try Pilates.
Kickboxing - Kickboxing is a high energy cardiovascular class which combines elements of boxing, martial arts, and aerobics to provide overall physical conditioning and toning.
Cardio Fit Club/Gutts-n-Butts - This 45 minute combination cardiovascular class includes weight lifting, aerobic movement and abdominal work. If you are looking for a fun, challenging and efficient way to work out, give this intense class a try! The last 15 minutes focuses on strengthening the abdominal and glute muscles through a variety of exercises and movements.
Zumba - Join us for this taste of Latin Dance in the form of fitness and fun. Many different latin dance styles will be explored in a fun and exotic style of dance fitness!!
