Ohio Reading Endorsement K-12

Professionals holding a valid Ohio teaching certificate or license of any type who wish to complete course requirements for certification as a reading teacher K-12, which is an endorsement to the teaching certificate or license, must complete the following coursework or have completed it in previous graduate study. Additionally, six hours of undergraduate credit may be applied toward the endorsement requirements.  However, all previous coursework applied toward the endorsement must receive approval from Dr. Teresa Young, Department of Childhood Education and Literacy Department Chair.

The master's degree is not a prerequisite for the reading endorsement.

Those desiring a reading endorsement from the State of Ohio must also successfully complete the Ohio Assessment for Educators (OAE) Exam Subtest I #038 and Subtest II #039, "Reading."  Additional information regarding the OAE Exams may be found at the following links:
