Ohio Reading Endorsement K-12
Professionals holding a valid Ohio teaching certificate or licensure of any type who wish to complete course requirements for certification as a reading teacher K-12, which is an endorsement to the teaching certificate or licensure, must complete the following coursework or have completed it in previous graduate study. Additionally, six hours of undergraduate credit may be applied toward the endorsement requirements. However, all previous coursework applied toward the endorsement must receive approval from Dr. Cynthia Geer, Department of Childhood Education and Literacy Department Chair.

The master's degree is not a prerequisite for the reading endorsement.
Those desiring a reading endorsement from the State of Ohio must also successfully complete the Praxis Exam #0204, "Teaching Reading." " Beginning September 1, 2012 the minimum score requirement is 159. Additional information regarding the Praxis Exam may be found at the following links:
