Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply to the program?
Students must submit their undergraduate application to the Admissions Office or Center for Adult and Part-Time Students application (CAPS students are 22 years of age or older), high school transcripts, any previous college transcripts, ACT or SAT test scores, and radiologic technology program application to the attention of the Office of Admissions or CAPS division.

Where can I find the application forms?
You can apply to the University on-line at www.xavier.edu/apply. The RT application can be found and downloaded at www.xavier.edu/radiologic_tech/ . You must sent RT application to Xavier University, Office of Admission (or CAPS), 3800 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, 45207.

When does the program begin?
The RT program starts on August 1 of each year. Students can not start the program after this starting date. The class beginning on August 1, 2008 is filled so applications will be considered for the August 2009 class.

If you are accepted into the University but placed on the waiting list for the RT program, you can start working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts. Please call (513) 745-3358 for more details.

Can my previous college transcripts transfer into the program?
The program has students with various backgrounds. Some of our students are right back of high school, some with one to two years of college, and some already has a bachelor's degree. When you submit your college transcript(s), the Registrar's Office will review them for same course equivalent at Xavier University. For an example, if you have taken English Composition, Sociology, History, Psychology or Human Anatomy and Physiology you can transfer those credits into the RT program. However, the Radiologic Courses must be taken at Xavier and in sequence so it will take two years to complete the program.

Transfers students into the RT program may want to look into the option of towards a bachelor degree at the same they are completing their associate degree. Call the Program Director for more details at (513) 745-3358.

What is the cost of the program?
The tuition for the Radiologic Technology is a flat-rate tuition. The tuition rate for the 2007-2008 academic year is $3,650.00 per Fall and per Spring Semester. Students must attend two summer semester but no tuition is collected.

(NOTE: This rate is not an addition to the university 's regular tuition rate.)

When is the dead-line date for the applications?
The program does not have a dead-line date to receive applications. All students who have been accepted by the University will be instructed to call the Program Director to set up an interview on campus and at the hospital site. We can accept sixteen students a year so applicants are encouraged to apply early in the Fall Semester.

After an applicant is accepted into the University, it is the responsibility of the applicant to call the Program Director to set up their interviews.
