Executive Vice President

Maribeth Amyot is the Executive Vice President acting in an advisory role to the President.

Ms. Amyot joined Xavier in May 2008 as Vice President for Financial Administration and CFO.  She was promoted to Senior Vice President and CFO in September 2011, and to Executive Vice President in July 2016.  Ms. Amyot has distinguished herself as a strategic and operational leader, guiding Xavier to significantly increased financial health, growing operating revenues, establishing an advantageous capital structure including debt refinancing, overseeing Xavier's physical campus transformation, initiating risk management practices, sponsoring enrollment strategies and execution, partnering on new academic programs, facilitating meaningful third party partnerships, and more. 

Ms. Amyot has over 25 years' experience overall, including over 20 years as CFO. Prior to Xavier, she served in senior financial and administrative positions with Western Connecticut State University, the University of Connecticut, and West Virginia University. In addition to the full range of financial and facilities functions, her prior work with these universities encompassed strategic planning, organizational governance, human resources, information technology and oversight of a $300 million capital campaign.

Ms. Amyot has served on the financial panel of the Higher Learning Commission, the accrediting body that evaluates all degree granting colleges and universities in 19 mid-western states. She previously served as an evaluator for the NEASC, the college and university accrediting body for New England. Ms. Amyot is a member of several professional organizations and is often called on for speaking engagements.

Since moving to Cincinnati in 2008, Ms. Amyot has been active in the community. She is a Leadership Cincinnati program alumna (2011) and served on the Fine Arts Fund steering committee and the board of Artswave and is currently on the Finance Committee of the Urban League. Ms. Amyot was awarded CFO of the Year for the large, not-for-profit category in 2010.

Ms. Amyot's education includes a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering and a master's degree in business administration, both from West Virginia University. She has three adult children, Gregory, Timothy, and Meredith.
