Cincinnati Bell Expands Training Partnership with Xavier Leadership Center
Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB) has renewed its commitment with Xavier Leadership Center (XLC) as its training partner for Cincinnati Bell Academy and will now offer its employees access to XLC’s Corporate University @ Xavier University, a brand new program that makes once exclusive, private and customized courses available to the public. Cincinnati Bell will offer employees from all divisions and levels the opportunity to learn among other leaders and managers from a variety of corporations.
In addition to continuing to attend private, customized on-site courses, Cincinnati Bell employees will have the opportunity to attend the new Corporate University located at Xavier University’s state-of-the art Schiff Conference Center in the Cintas Center. According to Terry Vallano, director of Talent Management, Training & Development, “Offering our Cincinnati Bell employees access to the Corporate University @ Xavier University gives us all a great deal more flexibility. Our employees can attend a lot more classes and pick and choose the courses that best meet their professional needs at a time that is convenient—without having to take much time off.”
Mark Wilson, senior manager of Training, Development and Recruiting and XLC program participant, echoes these sentiments and adds, “Another benefit of Corporate University is we now can give our employees exposure to different business cultures, and our employees can come back and build better business practices to serve our own customers.”
Noting the many challenges in the business world today, Vallano and Wilson feel that Corporate University will give them an edge in the marketplace. “Our biggest challenge is being innovative in all our business—both products and services—and through these classes our employees will see how other businesses face these same challenges and how they work through them,” Wilson said.
Bruce Miller, managing partner for Xavier Leadership Center, who worked closely with Vallano to design and build Cincinnati Bell Academy, is excited about continuing to work with Cincinnati Bell and offering the new Corporate University programs. “Knowing their environment, Corporate University offers their employees a broader and deeper curriculum of programs that were not widely available before, more than doubling their topic choices. Add peers from other companies and you have an even greater environment for learning,” Miller said. “We look forward to enhancing our strong partnership with Cincinnati Bell, providing high impact learning experiences for their leaders and business professionals.”
