The Great Debate at Xavier University
On Friday, February 4, students from Xavier University, Central State University, and University of Cincinnati will present debate arguments and showcase their musical and artistic talents during The Great Debate. The Great Debate, an intellectual and cultural experience promoting the highest cultural, intellectual, moral, philosophical and spiritual principles of leadership, debates and artistic expressions will be held at 7 pm in Xavier University’s Gallagher Center Theater, 3800 Victory Parkway, in Cincinnati.
This can’t-be-missed event is filled with thought-provoking debate, authentic dancing, musical performances and powerful dramatic interpretations and will feature the talents and collaborative energy of area’s best and brightest. The debate topic is “The Mis-education of a Generation: Are we producing 21st century leadership or life-long needership?

The Great Debate is an intellectual and cultural forum debating “hot topic” issues from the perspectives of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X and a synthesis of the two perspectives. Since 1985 in Nashville, TN, the Great Debate has engaged campus, community, government and business leaders through this safe, informative, educational and highly-entertaining approach to addressing relevant issues of the day. The Great Debate aims to increase audiences’ respect, understanding and justice through study, debate and practice.
