Koehler Earns Coveted Certification
Kathann Koehler, estate administrator and relationship manager in the Office of Planned Giving at Xavier University, has received the prestigious CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation, after passing a rigorous application process and sitting for a 4-hour examination.
The CFRE certification process consists of three parts: a written application, a written examination; and agreement to uphold a code of ethics and accountability standards. There is a requirement to recertify every three years. CFRE International certifies fundraising professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, skills and commitment to the highest standards of ethical and professional practice in serving the philanthropic sector. The total number of CFRE certified professionals in the United States is just over 4,500. CFRE certification is an impartial, third-party endorsement of a professional’s knowledge and experience against international standards in philanthropy. It adds a level of credibility and trustworthiness to philanthropy professionals.
Koehler began at Xavier University in 1999 as the assistant director for planned giving. She earned a BA in French language and literature from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. She lives in Loveland with her husband, Charles.
