Xavier University Captures the World on Film
Xavier University’s offices of International Student Services, University Communications, department of Art and Canon are hosting Xavier University’s Fifth Annual International Photo Contest in which students capture different places around the world on film in a manner that exhibits high technical and artistic merit and a sense of place or culture outside the United States. Each participant may submit up to five entries.
The contest is accepting submissions until December 15. The competition is open to currently-enrolled students, both graduate and undergraduate. More information is available at www.xavier.edu/international-photos/index.cfm. High resolution images should be online by the December 15 deadline. Online instructions can be found here: www.xavier.edu/international-photos/Submit-Your-Photos.cfm.
The entries will be judged by Greg Rust, Xavier’s director for photography, Gene Carmichael, S.J., spiritual counselor in human resources, Lea Minniti, director for international student services, and Jonathan Gibson, assistant professor of art. Photos by the contest finalists will be displayed in the “Faces of the World” lounge in Xavier’s Gallagher Student Center. The University community will vote to determine the winner, who will receive a Canon G-12 camera donated by Canon.
