Xavier Student Advances in Regionals of National Comedy Competition
Ft. Wayne’s Reid Faylor needs your vote April 21
Cincinnati, OH -- Forget the presidential election. Your vote, beginning April 21, is really important. Eight Xavier University comedians competed head-to-head against eight comedians from The Ohio State University on April 9 in Rooftop Comedy’s First Annual National College Comedy Competition. The Xavier 8 competed against the Ohio State 8 in a five-minute-per-entrant set. The sets were podcast and recorded and a panel of judges and viewers ranked the entrants. Out of the 16, Xavier’s Reid Faylor from Fort Wayne, IN was judged the regional finalist. Reid’s recorded set is on the website at this link:
“My. It has been quite the experience,” said Reid, a sophomore chemical science major. “When I think about it I get all giggly and feel like clapping, but I'm sure that will pass with time. I am relatively ecstatic.”
Beginning April 21 and continuing over the next month or so, you can go online to view all the regional finalists and vote for Reid. Of the regional finalists, four will advance to a free trip to Aspen to be part of a larger comedy festival. One Aspen attendee will be named the winner and receive $1,500.
Please go online and vote for Reid Faylor in the regional collegiate competition.
