Xavier to Offer Entrepreneurship Boot Camp for Veterans

First in region training and discussion to be offered

The Xavier Entrepreneurial Center will offer the Xavier Entrepreneurship Boot Camp for Veterans on May 22, 2008 from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. in the Xavier MBA classroom. The Boot Camp is free to veterans, who can sign up by phone at 513-745-2028.

 

“The XEC wants to support veterans,” says Daewoo Park, director of the Center. “As part of our social entrepreneurship mission, we will help veterans learn techniques and interact with veterans who are successful entrepreneurs.”

 

The day will start with a self-assessment test and continue with a discussion of the pros and cons of various ways to start a business. Participants will be trained in business plan development from marketing, finance, accounting and operations management perspectives. They will participate in a roundtable with veterans who are successful small business owners/executives. After lunch, legal and tax issues, and government requirements will be covered. In addition, the important topic of financing and special programs available for military veterans will be covered. The Boot Camp will end with a simulation competition.
