“Joining Psi Chi is the first major step in joining the larger community of psychologists,” adds Morrie Mullins, Ph.D., Psi Chi co-advisor. “It demonstrates excellence in and commitment to the field, and I’m proud of our inductees.”
Psi Chi immediately and visibly rewards the individual member, providing academic recognition to inductees by the mere fact of membership. Each of the Society's local chapters is obligated to nurture that accomplishment by offering a climate congenial to members' creative development. The national organization provides programs to help achieve these goals, including national and regional conventions, held annually in conjunction with the psychological associations, research award competitions, and certificate recognition programs.
