Xavier Will See Red on February 26
American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign
The Xavier University Women's Center and the Aspiring Women Professionals student club are partnering with the American Heart Association to help the campus “Go Red for Women” to promote heart disease awareness on Tuesday February 26.
The American Heart Association is working to change the perception that heart disease is a "man's disease." By teaching women how to talk to their doctors about heart disease, thousands of lives can be saved every year, because heart disease is often preventable.
On February 26, the Xavier campus will be asked to wear red clothes or a red accessory - a red blouse, a red dress, a red pin, a red purse, red lipstick, a red tie or red socks. Spreading the “Go Red for Women” message -love your heart- raises awareness of heart disease among the women you care about and empowers them to reduce their risk. The splash of red is a visible reminder to think about heart health.
