More Than 600 Cincinnati Public School Students to Attend Holiday Party at Xavier
Santa will be on hand for 13th Annual Toyful Joyful

Xavier University’s Schiff Conference and Banquet Center (located in the University’s Cintas Center) will turn into a holiday wonderland for more than 600 students of Cincinnati Public Schools on Monday, December 17 beginning at 10:30 a.m.The children, from Douglass, Roll Hill, Rees E. Price School and AMIS (Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies), will be guests at the 13th annual ‘Toyful Joyful,’ a holiday celebration started more than a decade ago by a group of local women. Sixteen challenged students from Woodward Technical School will be on hand to help.
Volunteers are preparing over 600 goodie bags for the students and each student will receive a gift from Santa. They, and their 40 chaperones, also will be treated to a buffet lunch.
Gift baskets made by volunteers will be used as centerpieces, then raffled off to lucky students at the end of the celebration.
Entertainment will be provided by the children who will perform their favorite holiday tunes. WCPO meteorologist Steve Raleigh and his wife, Julie, are the event’s emcees.
‘Toyful Joyful’ is sponsored by Xavier University, Sodexho, Seton High School, Mt. Notre Dame High School, Lincoln Financial, St. Ursula Academy, and the 7th grade of Christian Hills Academy. Volunteer coordinators are Karen Schupp and Julie Raleigh.
