Local authorities and Homeland Security are ratcheting up efforts to detain immigrants in Cincinnati. The recent raid, arrests and deportations of Latin American workers at Koch Foods highlights the national trend of “cracking down” on undocumented workers. Last year’s efforts to promote political reform failed and have been shelved until after next November’s presidential elections. In the meantime, we are left to make sense of these recent raids and the heated and ongoing debate about the impact and welfare of immigrants. Come join our panelists who will address many of the issues that define the politics and realities of immigration.
