For the first time in years, Xavier Players, Xavier performing arts and Xavier music department are teaming up to put on a stage production. On Oct. 21-23 and Nov. 4-5,
Players and the two departments will be staging Gilbert and Sullivan's comic operetta Pirates of Penzance, a hilarious tale of hapless pirates, dutiful and lessdutiful daughters and blundering cops. The last time Players and the two departments worked together was on a production

After the unexpected retirement of Cathy Springfield, director of performing arts, over the holiday break, Director of Gallagher Student Center(GSC) and Summer Conference Program, Joe Christman will fill her position on an interim basis, adding to his growing string of titles. Springfield held this position since 1988.

Cincinnati, OH - The League of Cincinnati Theatres will be hosting the 2009 Cincinnati Unified Auditions on Sunday May 2, 10 AM- 5 PM and Monday, May 3, 10 AM- 3:30 PM in the Marx Rehearsal Hall at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, 962 Mt. Adams Circle, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Last year, 150 actors auditioned for the 20 theatre companies represented. Actors have two minutes to perform two contrasting monologues or a monologue and a song.

Cincinnati Landmark Productions, the theatrical organization for the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, is seeking a lead instructor to coordinate its new After School Drama Program, premiering this fall. The course is designed for children 10 – 13 years of age.

Seeking professional actors who want to give their resumes a boost. Although this is a nonunion, non paying job it will be in every other way a professional experience for the actors involved. Each will receive a copy and credit as well as food, hair/ make-up, and wardrobe. This short film will be entered into various film festivals.
