Electricity curtailment

Every summer Xavier participates in a statewide test for electricity curtailment.  In the past, Xavier has exceeded the required 50-percent reduction of its electricity demand with an average 61 percent reduction. Thanks to everyone who helped achieve this goal as it helps determine future payments.

On Wednesday August 17, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Xavier is required to participate in an audit of its ability to curtail electricity usage.  This is to fulfill a commitment to reduce our electrical load when extreme conditions in the region call for it.  Air conditioning and cooling related equipment will be cut back during this period.  Everyone on campus can help with these conservation efforts by turning off any non-essential equipment and lighting.
