Custodial Services

  • Academic Buildings: Both daytime and nighttime custodial services are provided in academic buildings with the assistance of an outside contractor throughout campus. These services include: Trash removal, recycling collection, cleaning of floors, stripping and waxing of hard surface floors, stairwell cleaning, entry glass, public restroom service, chalk board/white board cleaning, and special items including major carpet cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Residence HallsCustodial services are provided in areas where our students live by Xavier University employees. The custodial activity happens during normal business hours with limited service from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. These services include: Trash removal, recycling collection, cleaning of floors, stripping and waxing of hard surface floors, upholstery cleaning, stairwell cleaning, entry glass, public restroom service, weekly private restroom service in five traditional residence halls, and special items including major carpet cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Window Cleaning: Annual exterior window cleaning is provided by an outside vendor each summer. Cleaning of blinds and window covers also occurs on an annual basis over the summer months and winter Holiday break for all buildings.
  • Quick Fact: During the fiscal year of 2010, 3,852 miles of toilet paper was used on campus.  The mileage of that amount of toilet paper is the same distance as it is from Cincinnati to London!
