Student achievements are demonstrated primarily through written examinations, solutions of problems, written and oral reports, and papers.
- A - Excellent understanding of concepts; able to use the concepts to analyze a question or problem and synthesize a solution with little or no direction. Can use a number of concepts to solve a multi-step situation. Demonstrates an excellent grasp of the broadest use of the concepts with the ability to integrate them into a complete picture.
- B - Good understanding of concepts; able to use the concepts to analyze a question or problem and synthesize a solution with some direction. Ability to solve a two or three step problem using the appropriate concepts. Good understanding of information from a text or lecture.
- C - Satisfactory understanding of concepts; able to recognize concept and solve a one step problem using the concept. Ability to extract basic information from a text and lecture and answer direct questions. Can solve multi-step problems/questions only with significant direction.
- D - Minimal understanding of concepts; minimally able to use concepts and extract basic information from a text or lecture and answer direct questions.
- F - Significant lack of understanding of concepts; failure to do assignments; failure to solve the simplest one step problems or questions.
