Dear Parents: Congratulations! All of your coordination, planning and purchasing has come full circle. Your students are here, attending classes, meeting new people and starting the new school year with great enthusiasm. This month, the Office of Student Involvement hosted the "Muskie after Dark" event, Club Day on the Mall and transported Xavier students downtown to watch the WEBN Fireworks display on Labor Day weekend. We do have a lot to offer here at Xavier; let Dianne Fisk, Executive Director of Parent Relations, know if she can assist you in any way at fiskd@xavier.edu. |

Mass, Walk of Remembrance Held on 9/11 Anniversary
Hundreds of Xavier students, staff and family members gathered for the University community's 172nd annual "Spirit Celebration Day," which this year happened to fall on Sunday, Sept. 11. While the "Spirit Celebration" has always been a part of the Jesuit tradition that celebrates the beginning of the academic year, this year's event took on a more somber tone in light of the 10th anniversary of the Twin Towers tragedy. University President Michael J. Graham, S.J., led a noon Mass of the Holy Spirit in the Cintas Center, immediately followed by a "Walk of Remembrance of 9/11." |
