Academic Scholarship Policy and Procedures
Your student may be one of many at Xavier who receive financial aid through academic scholarships. At the start of the spring semester, below are some facts and reminders about Xavier's scholarship program policy and procedures:
Did you know?
Students receiving academic scholarships are required to be enrolled full-time and achieve a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. The Office Scholarships monitors the academic progress of all scholarship recipients after each spring semester. Students whose academic performance does not meet the required grade point average are notified that they have forfeited their scholarship for the following year.
A student who loses their scholarship may appeal the decision based on extraordinary or unforeseen circumstances that inhibited their performance. Appeals are submitted to the Office of Financial Aid, using the appeal form found on the financial aid and scholarship website.
The ultimate goal of the Scholarship Appeals Committee is to retain scholars on academic scholarship without sacrificing the integrity of the scholarship program. For more information, contact Paul Calme, director of scholarships in the Office of Financial Aid, at calme@xavier.edu.
