Crime Stoppers Reporting Line: 513-709-STOP

Campus police are working with students and the University community to help reduce crime through the new Crime Stoppers Reporting Line, 513-709-STOP. This number accepts anonymous tips sent from students via text message regarding suspicious activity on campus.

“We have minor property crimes that can to go unsolved because nobody lets us know or gives us any tips to advance our investigation,” says Sgt. Ken Grossman. “The whole idea behind this text line is so that a student can send a text anonymously and we could follow up with the tip as we see fit.”

The establishment of the Crime Stoppers Reporting Line is one of the many initiatives the University’s Safety Team has implemented to improve campus safety. Other initiatives include better communication through the safety website, more intensive employee safety training programs and improvements in campus outdoor lighting.

As a parent, being informed about and talking with your student about campus safety issues is very important. Please encourage your student to save the Crime Stoppers Reporting Line number in his or her cell phone, 513-709-STOP, and to report any suspicious activity to Campus Police. Who knows, maybe a tip they give could help solve and investigation or prevent a major crime.
