Dianne Fisk Director's Note

On behalf of the Office of Parent Relations, I would like to congratulate our graduating seniors and their families. This is a fantastic time to celebrate your students' accomplishments and achievements – and we are so proud to share in these moments.

Our National Alumni Association is waiting with open arms to welcome your graduate wherever their next journey takes them. Please encourage them to keep in touch with Xavier as active alumni by visiting www.xavier.edu/alumni. We have 50 alumni chapters across the United States to assist our new graduates with job placement, networking opportunities and recommendations on places to live. The connection to Xavier through our extended family is everywhere.

Again, congratulations to our graduates and to all students who have completed another year.

My Best,

Dianne Burns Fisk

Commencement 2010
Xavier conferred 991 undergraduate diplomas and 1,082 graduate diplomas during the University's 172nd commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 15, at Cintas Center. The commencement speaker and recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award was Cincinnati attorney and Xavier graduate Barbara Howard. Amber Beery of Medina, Ohio, was honored as this year's top graduating senior. A biology major and chemistry minor, Beery received the John A. Elet, S.J., Scholar award. She starts medical school this fall at Ohio State University.
Office of Student Success and Retention
The Office of Student Success and Retention soon will e-mail the University's Summer Survey to upcoming sophomores, juniors and seniors. The survey allows the University to maintain contact with students and gather information regarding their experience at Xavier. The survey requests feedback regarding the academic advising process, class scheduling and the identification of any personal problems that might inhibit a student from returning to Xavier. The survey is an important retention initiative and we in the Office of Student Success and Retention would appreciate parents encouraging your students to participate in it.
All Honors Day
Each spring Xavier recognizes students for their academic, athletic and leadership excellence at its All Honors Day celebration. Nominated by peers, faculty and staff, these students represent some of the University's best and brightest. Read the names of those recognized.
Office of the Bursar
The University is moving to paperless invoices with the August 2010 invoice. eBills, as they are commonly called, are electronic invoices accessed via a link sent directly to a student's e-mail address. Students can provide their parent with a login ID so they, too, will receive the e-mail link. Read more about it.
Office of Financial Aid
Read more about changes associated with the new federal law affecting several student aid programs.
