June 2010 Office of Parent Relations Newsletter

Dianne Fisk Director's Note

Summer is officially here and there are no lazy days on campus. As soon as we graduated the Class of 2010, we began welcoming the class of 2014 with citywide sendoffs, the Manresa parent reception and Priority Registration, better known as "PREP."

The boulevard running through the center of Ledgewood Drive is under construction. Once complete, it will create an "official" entrance to our campus. The new buildings and grounds are transforming the appearance of Xavier. You will be amazed by it when you return to campus with your students in August.

As always, if you need assistance, don't hesitate to call or e-mail our Office of Parent Relations.

My Best,

Dianne Burns Fisk

Heartland-Delta Conference
An estimated 300 faculty, staff and administrators from 12 Jesuit universities across the Midwest visited Xavier in late May as part of the Heartland-Delta VI conference. The three-day event sparked dialogue about Jesuit education and Ignatian spirituality with keynote addresses and small breakout sessions. A banner depicting the five core values of the Jesuits was on display throughout. Read more about the banner, which was designed and created by members of the Xavier community with donated scraps of cloth.

Basketball Courts
Having fun this fall will be a slam dunk for students will like to dribble. Three outdoor basketball courts are under construction and will be ready in time for the start of the semester. The courts are adjacent to the sand volleyball courts in the former R-1 parking lot.
