Gift of Fitness

We all know that students are under a great deal of stress learning to manage their time, academics and daily obligations. Exercise is a clinically proven way to reduce stress - and the cost is minimal. All current Xavier students may use the O'Connor Sports Center free of charge by presenting a valid Musketeer All Card. In addition, the center offers fun, engaging group exercise classes.

Encourage your son or daughter to create healthy habits that will last a lifetime by giving them the gift of fitness. An all-inclusive fitness pass, which gives students access to any group exercise class, costs $75 for the semester. The spring group exercise schedule is now available online.

Classes begin Monday, Jan. 11. The first week of each semester is free for all students, which allows them the opportunity try out various classes and decide which they like or which best fit their schedule.

The center offers 15 weeks of programming, with 14 classes offered each week. Classes include:

  • yoga,
  • water aerobics,
  • spinning,
  • zumba,
  • total body conditioning, and
  • cardio sculpt
Students with the all-inclusive fitness pass may attend any group class at no additional cost. Or, students can pay a $3 drop-in fee each time they visit the center. The all-inclusive pass equates to $2.50 per class for students who participate in just two classes a week, or $1.66 a class for those who attend three a week.

To purchase your son or daughter a spring all-inclusive fitness pass, contact me by e-mail at dulle@xavier.edu or by phone at 513-745-3209. Visa, MasterCard and cash are accepted.

Remember: Fitness lasts for a lifetime.

Have a wonderful holiday season,
