Office of Parent Relations
Deadline for FAFSA: Feb. 15
Now is the time to file for need-based financial aid for the 2010-2011 school year. Families can file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) now. The priority deadline is Monday, Feb. 15. Families who file by that date receive priority consideration for need-based aid.
How to file:
- Log onto www.pin.ed.gov to obtain a separate personal identification number (PIN) for the student and at least one parent. (For those renewing FAFSA, you may use your current PIN.)
- Complete your 2009 federal income tax return to determine the data to enter on the FAFSA. If you can't complete your taxes by Feb. 15, you may estimate the data to enter on the FAFSA application.
- Log onto www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete the online FAFSA application.
- List Xavier and our school code number (003144) on the application and electronically submit the FAFSA. Use your PIN to "sign" the FAFSA.
That's it! Xavier will create a financial aid package for your review once the University receives the results of your FAFSA application. For more information, contact the Office of Financial Aid at 513-745-3142 or visit www.xufinaid@xavier.edu.
