New program, new leader for multi-faith ministry

Xavier attracts students of more than 15 different religious denominations. To help students of all faiths feel connected as well as gain a deeper understanding of the Catholic traditions rooted in Xavier, the University has created a new position within the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice.

That’s where Andrea Bardelmeier comes in. A new staff member on the faith and ministry team at the center, Bardelmeier will focus on non-Catholic ministries, specifically Protestant faiths and Ecumenism. Several on-campus ministries are available to students, including a newly formed Ecumenical Team, as well as Navigators, Students Committed to Christ and Gospel Choir. All offer programming for deepening one’s faith. The Ecumenical Team will facilitate the expression of Christian unity on campus through shared prayer, worship and servant leadership between the various ministries.

The center dedicates space for students of all faiths to develop their spiritual life and finds ways to help every student find a place of worship in Cincinnati. For the fall semester, Bardelmeier’s office is in Room 350 Gallagher Student Center. E-mail her at bardelmeiera@xavier.edu or call her at (513) 745-3585.
