November retreats

The Office of Campus Ministry offers many services and programs for Xavier’s students. This November, we’ll be offering two spiritual retreats to help students take a break from their studies.

The Approach Retreat, Nov. 20-22, provides second-, third- and fourth-year students an opportunity to take time away from the busy-ness of the campus atmosphere and spend a long weekend at the Milford Retreat Center. The retreat is conducted under the guidance of professional staff and trained student leaders who provide personal witness of God’s love and lead participants in reflection on their own lives. Through this process, students have the opportunity to grow closer to God and one another as they analyze their own approach to life.

The Urban Plunge Retreats, Nov. 6-7 and Nov. 13-14, help first-year students connect their spirituality with social justice issues. Students spend the weekend in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine district where they encounter firsthand the issues of the urban poor. Urban Plunge provides education as well as an opportunity to grow spiritually through a shared experience of solidarity. This program is offered in collaboration with Xavier’s Office of Peace and Justice Programs, the Ozanam Center, the Coalition for the Homeless and Campus Ministry.
