Dianne Fisk Director's Note

We're in the final stretch of the spring semester, with only three weeks remaining till summer break. I'm always amazed at how fast the spring semester seems to fly by.

I am pleased to announce our new co-presidents for the Parents' Association Advisory Council, Steve and Sharon Rosenbaum. The Rosenbaums live in the Chicago area and are the parents of Kathryn, class of 2010, and Stephen, class of 2012.

On behalf of the council, we sincerely thank those parents who have just completed their term in office and welcome the 14 newest members. Council members are your voice to the University. Their contact information can be found on the parents website.

Commencement is next month on Saturday, May 14. Congratulations to all of your graduates on their wonderful accomplishments.

Regards,

Dianne Fisk

Campus Safety
Xavier's automated emergency communications system, XU Alert Me, is being upgraded with new features and additional capabilities this summer. The University chose a new service provider this winter, greatly expanding the system's capabilities. During a test in January, more than 4,000 text messages were delivered in 37 seconds. The old system did not include email and took 15-30 minutes to broadcast the same number of messages by voice and text. Read more about campus safety initiatives.
