To apply for Guatemala 2014:
- Complete the online application for Guatemala 2014. For the question that asks why you are a good candidate, be sure to include your competency in speaking Spanish as well as your experience working with children (e.g., babysitting, working with younger siblings or at a summer camp). Submit this Complete this application by November 15, 2013.
Note: Application submission requires a $50.00 application fee. For students not selected to participate in Guatemala 2014, the application fee will be returned.
- Request from and obtain agreement from two professors outside of the Department of Occupational Therapy to serve as a personal reference for you. Select those who are able to comment on your qualifications for study abroad. in question about whom to ask to serve as a reference, contact Carol Scheerer, GA 2014 Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org. After obtaining agreement from the professors, enter each professor’s name into the online application as indicated. An automated follow-up will be sent to each professor requesting completion of the form and directions for submission. All forms must be uploaded by November 15, 2013.
- Schedule a 15-20 minute interview with the GA 2014 team during November 18 - November 22, 2013. Do so by calling or emailing Tina Forshler, the secretary in Occupational Therapy, at 513-745-3150 or email@example.com. The purpose of the interview will be to determine your maturity level, readiness for such an experience, and ability to work well in a group. Each applicant will be asked the same series of questions.
- Sit back and relax – you will be notified of your acceptance status on or around December 7th, 2013.
