High school chemistry is a prerequisite for admission to the nursing program. Students currently in high school should complete this course before graduation.

Application and Admission

Prospective undergraduate students begin the admission process through the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

Go to the Undergraduate Admission website to learn about Xavier, the admission process, to get connected with an admission counselor, and to arrange a visit. 

Freshmen enrolled in the Xavier nursing program must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.70 in order to begin sophomore level nursing courses and must thereafter maintain a cumulative 2.70 grade point average to remain in the program.

A felony conviction or a felony or misdemeanor conviction related to drugs may result in disqualification for state licensure (as outlined in Section 4723.28 of the Ohio Revised Code). All BSN students are required to obtain a criminal background check prior to completion of the program. The undergraduate nursing student handbook specifies when the background check must be obtained.
