As holiday lights appeared all over campus, the South Asian Society (SAS) and Filipino-American Cultural Enlightenment Society (FACES) celebrated Diwali on Thursday, Nov. 16. Duncan and Graves set career highs as Xavier rolls
After a sluggish, evenly matched first half, Xavier ended a busy 10-day marathon with an 86-68 win over the American Eagles last Saturday at Cintas Center. This win followed a second place finish at the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam tournament when Xavier knocked off Virginia Commonwealth and Villanova before falling to now-sixth ranked Alabama in the tournament final. It always seems that this time of the year is filled with love, laughter and community. Going home for Thanksgiving, I was reminded how refreshing it is to be in a mutually inclusive family and friend setting where everything is shared.
Why, when you’re around family and good friends, you easily share stories, laughter, tears, joy, delicious food...you name it.
It was this community setting that made me reflect upon what brings stress into my life. Why can’t I just feel this sense of sharing and caring all year long?
