- March 15, 2006 - The Xavier Musketeers won four conference tournament games in four days with a dramatic 62-61 victory on Saturday night over the Hawks of Saint Joseph’s University at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, claiming their fourth Atlantic 10 Conference Championship. It was their third in the last five years, and it secured a prized automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. On Feb. 22, the upperclassman housing lottery opened and quickly filled, leaving many homeless students panicking to find off-campus housing. Lori Lambert, director of Residence Life, estimated that students who originally planned to live on campus in the Village or Commons were sent away by lottery number 500.
